Save A Relationship
If you are trying to save a relationship the first step is
knowing what is wrong. Good communication is essential. If you
are unwilling to share your feelings honestly, then you can not
expect to make any progress.
Strong relationships require two partners each working
cooperatively. Frequently, it has been said that relationships
are a fifty fifty arrangement. Those who are truly trying to
save a relationship know that it is actually necessary for both
parties to be one hundred percent dedicated to save the
relationship.

Whether people will happily except it or not, relationships
require a lot of hard work, even good relationships. So, if you
are trying to figure out how to save a relationship, you must
be aware that this will take even more hard work.
If you have done something to put the relationship in
jeopardy, be quick to offer an apology and do whatever is
necessary to make a mends. If the other person is at fault, be
quick to graciously accept their apology. Try not to continue
bringing it up and revisiting past issues. The only purpose
this will serve is to keep a painful situation alive rather
than allowing for healing.
People too often forget their manners once they are in a
relationship. This is a mistake. Being thoughtful and
considerate can go a long way in showing true concern for
someone else's needs and concerns..
You must give your partner time. Time to work through their
own issues as well as the ones created within the relationship.
If your spouse does not take the time to deal with their own
personal issues, you can be sure you will be dealing with them
within the relationship.
Do not crowd them out. If you spend too much time talking
about and dwelling on problematic issues, you could actually be
making matters worse, rather helping to save a
relationship.
Whatever you do, do not allow a third party to get involved,
unless they are you counselor or therapist. The game of "he
said, she said" can quickly become very ugly. Think about it,
you innocently mention something that annoys you about your
partner to a friend or loved one, and the next thing you know,
you are seeing it printed on a billboard in the city square.
Ok, a little exaggeration here, but you get the point. Keep the
private things private.
Try to show love, honor and respect, and expect it in
return. There is a reason these words are found in most
traditional marriage vows.
As the bible instructs, "do unto others as you would have
them do unto you". If you follow this rule, you just may save a
relationship.
